Girls Don't Sync
Recognizing the historical underrepresentation of women on dance floors and behind the decks, they have made it a core mission to create more opportunities and visibility for female and marginalized artists.
They are described as bringing "much needed inclusivity and energy to underrepresented dancefloors worldwide." The group's founding mission was to "amplify and champion emerging talent" and they are known for supporting grassroots venues and booking female DJs.

Illustration of Artist
From my unique vantage point on the side balcony at KOKO London, I had the perfect view to illustrate the headline acts, Girls Don't Sync, as they performed. I spent the entire evening drawing, capturing not only the energy of the DJs themselves—their focus, their synergy, and the way they commanded the stage—but also the incredible atmosphere of the crowd below. My position allowed me to document the powerful connection between the artists and the audience, a dynamic interplay of sound and movement that captured the full scope of the event.

Illustration of Venue
Perched at the highest vantage point of KOKO London, I spent the rest of the evening until 5 a.m. completely immersed in drawing the venue and the pulsating crowd below. From that elevated spot, I had an unobstructed view of the entire room, allowing me to capture the vastness of the space and the collective energy of thousands of people moving as one. I focused on illustrating the architectural grandeur of KOKO, with its ornate balconies and towering stage, contrasted with the sea of faces, dancing figures, and the vibrant light show that washed over them.
